Wow! That last sunset came so quickly!
We had this much later than usual snowfall 9 days ago. It was wet, and heavy, and copious. The snowplows carved a path down the street and left snow boulders along the curbs. The next day the sun melted nearly all of it. How quickly the snow came, in great quantity, and how quickly the sun took it away was unsettling to me. It did not seem like a gentle change.
The rate which the length of day changes at McMurdo seems similarly powerful, and yet a little unsettling. The Buddhist part of me says, it all is changing all the time, we just deny it.
I am beginning to think about all the movies we should watch when you return to Madison. The Lion King is on the top of the list.
